Nightwish formed in 1996 in the city of Kitee, in Finland. Since the beginning, the band has had female vocals. However, in 2006 the lead singer Tarja Turunen left the band, giving rise to Anette Olzon, who assumed the band's main microphone. Right after that, they recorded their current album "Dark Passion Play", which was well accepted by the critics and fans around the world. The CD has already won several awards, and is particularly popular in Hungary, Spain and Finland, where the band won double-platinum CD only two days after it was launched.
March Hietala, the band's bassist and vocalist, describes the band's style as "melodic symphonic gothic metal", which pleases many types of people, with the mixture of melodic and heavy sounds. The current album tour has already been at several countries around the world and now arrives in Brazil with many shows.
In Belo Horizonte, you can enjoy the band's music at Chevrolet Hall, on November the 10th, starting at 9:00 p.m. Prices vary from R$ 100, 00 to R$ 150,00. If you present your student ID, you may pay half price.
Tips: The event will happen on a Monday, therefore, after you leave the concert, you may not find many open places to eat and drink! So, enjoy Chevrolet Hall's bar, which will be selling alcoholic beverages at the occasion.
